Tucker & Dale vs Evil

Tucker & Dale vs Evil falls under the genre Horror Comedy. Horror Comedies, in my opinion, need to have an equal amount of horror and some good laughs. This movie hit all the high points for it.

The basic story behind the film is don't judge a book by it's cover. When a group of college kids go out for a vacation in the woods they stumble upon two hillbillies on the way. The group is easily spooked by them which causes them to think back on all the horror movies they have seen, which involved hillbillies being the killers. This is not the case for Tucker and Dale, instead they are just going to their vacation home by a lake.

As they are fishing late one night they stumble upon Ally who was getting ready to go for a swim. She notices them, freaks out, falls in the water and hits her head on a rock. Tucker and Dale save her but her friends, of course, think they kidnapped her. This then causes the college kids to think up a plan to "save" Ally. And it fails, horribly.

I won't give away too much more about the movie, overall the acting was excellent, the transition between sides of the story was well thought out, and I give this a 8.1 out 10. With a re-watchability of high.

Unfortunately Tucker & Dale vs Evil is available to watch in select theaters, or you can rent it on iTunes for a small $7. I'm definitely buying it once it's released on DVD.
